Guanajuato, Mexico

Group of ChildrenThe Methodist church of Cortazar, Guanajuato felt the need in 2001 to reach out to the community downtown where the church was located.  Under the leadership of Pastor Agustin, the church began opening their doors to the community for breakfast once a month.  With no response from the downtown community after a few months, Pastor Agustin and members of the church left the four walls of the church in search for hungry people.  God opened the doors in the colony of "Los Magueyes" to begin providing breakfast.  There was a vast response.  Spiritual food was always provided as well.  There was always praise and worship and a message given after breakfast.  The people were being filled so richly that they didn't want to go home.

This was the beginning of what we know today as "Torre Fuerte" church.  Pastor Agustin and the leadership of the Methodist church here in Cortazar spent endless hours in the homes of the people in "Los Magueyes,"  winning them to Christ, one family at a time.  Today, with the partnership of Hands and Feet Ministries here in Cortazar, the church has exchanged worshiping under a tree, and sitting on rocks for worshipping in a beautiful temple.

Congregation

The pastors that have preceded Pastor Agustin, Pastor Lupita-four years ago, and Pastor Isidro-the current pastor, have helped further the vision that God had given Pastor Agustin.  Hands and Feet Ministries have been instrumental in the furthering of this vision as well.  Glory to God for the partnership and fellowship of the body in the Lord's work.  The ministry in Cortazar is very thankful to Hands and Feet Ministries for their hard work, friendship, and prayers.
